U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Israel. His plane landed at Ben Gurion International Airport, coinciding with the beginning of a new diplomatic process aimed at ending the long-standing conflict in the Gaza Strip.
According to Reuters, Trump’s visit took place after the first seven hostages were released as part of the agreement between Hamas and Israel. This event is viewed as the initial result of the peace negotiations.
Reports indicate that Donald Trump is expected to address the Israeli parliament — the Knesset — in the coming hours. In his speech, he is likely to touch on the peace process, regional security, and the reconsideration of relations with Hamas.
After that, he will head to the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, where an international summit on Gaza is planned to take place, involving representatives from the United States, Egypt, Israel, and several Arab countries. The summit’s main goal is to resolve the conflict through political means and lay the foundations for lasting peace.
Trump was ceremoniously welcomed at the airport by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, as well as U.S. presidential envoy Steve Witkoff, advisor Jared Kushner, and his wife Ivanka Trump.
Analysts believe that Trump’s visit could mark not only an effort to resolve the Gaza conflict but also an important step toward establishing a new political balance in the Middle East. If peace talks succeed, this visit will be remembered as a new chapter in history.
