Donald Trump makes another statement on the war in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump expressed a new opinion on the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, dw.com reports. According to him, Kyiv could theoretically win, but this probability is very low.

"They can still win. I don't think they will win, but theoretically, they can achieve such a result. I never said that they would definitely win. Anything is possible," Trump said during a joint statement with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albaneze.

About a month ago, the White House leader stated that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is "capable of reclaiming territories within its former borders through battle." "Over time, with the patience and financial support of Europe, especially NATO, it is possible to restore the original borders," he said then.

However, on October 19, Trump stated that the Donbas region needed to be divided to end the war in Ukraine. In his opinion, a large part of the territory should remain under Russian control.

"Let it be so. It is already divided. "I think that about 78 percent of the region is controlled by Russia," the US president said. At the same time, he added that Russia and Ukraine "may agree on something later."

Analysts view Trump's words as a continuation of his cautious and pragmatic policy towards Ukraine. In his opinion, a peaceful end to the war would be the most acceptable option for the security of the USA and the whole world.
