An American woman named Janet Fontane fulfilled her biggest dream of her life: she married for the first time at the age of 76. This event inspired not only his loved ones but also thousands of people, Business Insider reports.
According to Janet, she believed in love and sincere relationships throughout her life, but couldn't find a person suitable for her destiny. Although she established relationships with different men, even some relationships that lasted for years did not bring true harmony.
After retirement, he decided to open a new page in his life. In 2016, she enrolled in personal development courses and began to rediscover herself. This period had a great influence on his inner world - he understood his own worth, dreams, and goals.
"After I started working on myself, I felt it was time to find someone who could share the rest of my life," he said. With this opinion, she registered on the dating site. With the help of a friend, she filled out a questionnaire: she wrote about traveling there, skiing, being active in a rotary club, and attending church meetings.
Soon after, fate brought her to an 81-year-old man named Cliff. Cliff lived in Arizona, and Janet lived in Seattle. Despite the long distance, they regularly spoke on the phone. A few weeks later, the first meeting took place at the winery - Janet said she would never forget that day.
"Cliff was a true gentleman. "We talked for three hours, we didn't know how time passed," he said. Despite the initial hesitation, Janet decided to continue this relationship. They became a completely complementary couple.
After several years of long-distance love, Cliff proposed to Janet. "I can't sit on my knees anymore, but I will prove my love for you not with words, but with life," the man suggested choosing the rings together.
The wedding became a real dream - a wedding ceremony surrounded by a white dress, guests, festive music, and photographers. Janet remembers this moment as the happiest day of her life.
"We've spent most of our lives separately, and now we're writing our final chapter together," says Fontane with a smile.
This story not only proves that love has no age, but if a person works on themselves and opens their heart, fate will take the same step. Janet and Cliff's story once again showed that there is always a second chance in life.
