It emphasized anti-corruption efforts, technological independence, and domestic economic activity as key priorities.
The main focus was on the fight against corruption. Out of 205 Central Committee members, 168 attended the meeting, while others were absent for various reasons. This indicates that new investigations have begun. The dismissal of several high-ranking military generals highlights the government’s intensified “internal cleansing” policy.
The second major topic was achieving technological independence. Due to ongoing trade tensions with the United States, China is strengthening its domestic technological capabilities. Xi Jinping set “self-reliance in science and technology” as a strategic goal. Through this policy, China aims to reduce its reliance on foreign technology and develop its own industries using advanced innovations.
Another critical issue was boosting domestic consumption. Having long depended on exports, China now seeks to increase internal demand. However, the housing crisis and youth unemployment remain major obstacles. Experts say that without restoring public confidence, stimulating domestic spending will be difficult.
Overall, this is a testing period for China, where political stability, economic growth, and technological independence are closely intertwined. Xi Jinping’s administration is striving to maintain balance among these three pillars.
