South Korea to gift Trump a golden crown and the highest order

South Korea will award U.S. President Donald Trump the country’s highest honor — the “Order of Mugunghwa.” According to official Seoul, Trump will also receive a replica of a golden crown from the ancient Silla period as a gift. The order is named after South Korea’s national flower, the pink hibiscus.

Trump arrived in Seoul on the final leg of his Asian tour. During the trip, he also held official meetings in Malaysia and Japan. South Korean President Lee Jae Myung is expected to hold talks with Trump to discuss reducing U.S. tariffs on Korean products.

Lee called Trump a “peaceful leader” for his contribution to the peace process on the Korean Peninsula. Therefore, he is being presented with the “Order of Mugunghwa.” Trump said he is ready to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un again, but Pyongyang has not yet responded.

Trump and Lee are scheduled to visit a museum in Gyeongju, a city famous for its historical sites from the Silla kingdom. The golden crown presented to Trump symbolizes a long era of peace in Korean history. Official Seoul describes the gift as a symbol of a new era of peace and cooperation between the two countries.
