Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo recently made a marriage proposal to his longtime wife, Georgina Rodriguez, during an interview with journalist Pierce Morgan.
According to him, the incident occurred unplanned, during a moment of joy at home at night.
"It was about one o'clock in the morning, my daughters were asleep. One of my friends gave me a ring to give to Georgina. At that moment, my two children came in and said: "Dad, you are proposing marriage to our mother!" Hearing these words, I realized that this was the right time. Since the children said so and my friends filmed everything, I understood that I wanted this and suggested it. I didn't sit on my knees because I wasn't ready for it, but it was a wonderful moment. I delivered a simple speech without exaggeration. This moment was truly sincere and very peaceful," said Ronaldo.
According to him, this event was not a special plan, but a kind of natural and sincere step.
"I'm a romantic, but I'm not the type to bring flowers every week. My romance manifests itself not in words, but in deeds. I knew beforehand that Georgina would be a woman of my whole life. That's why I made this proposal so simply, but sincerely," he added.
This sincere confession of the football star was widely discussed among the fans. Many called Ronaldo's move "an expression of true love."
Georgina Rodriguez posted a picture with Ronaldo on her social media page, writing, "I said yes." Thus, it became known that one of the world's most famous couples is officially on the verge of marriage.
