The Palestinian-Israeli conflict has been one of the most acute points in the world political landscape for many years. The situation in the Gaza Strip, in particular, is becoming increasingly tense with each new statement. Recently, Israel's Defense Minister Israel Kass made a new statement that drew the international community's attention to the same point.
Israel intends to act independently in the controlled part of Gaza
Israel Kats stated that the Israeli government will undertake the disarmament of Hamas militants in certain areas of the Gaza Strip. According to him, in other uncontrolled areas, this task can be performed by international forces or the Israeli army.
The politician's note on Network X showed that Israel's current strategy is on the verge of serious changes.
Kas: "There is no way to the State of Palestine"
In his new statement, the Defense Minister once again firmly emphasized Israel's political position on the Palestinian issue. He stated that the country remains opposed to the establishment of a Palestinian state and has no intention of changing its position on this matter.
Kats emphasized that Israel's main goal is the complete demilitarization of Gaza, meaning the elimination of everything from the tunnels in the area to any weapons reserves. At the same time, the goal is to continue the complete disarmament of the Hamas movement.
A ceasefire is in effect in Gaza, but the situation is unstable
As is known, a ceasefire agreement has been in effect in the Gaza Strip since October 10th. In accordance with the mutual agreement between Hamas and Israel, the parties continue to regularly exchange the bodies of hostages.
Nevertheless, the political and humanitarian situation in the region remains very uncertain and alarming.
Most countries of the world recognize Palestine
At the same time, more than 150 countries of the world have officially recognized the independence of Palestine. A few months ago, this list expanded again - France, Great Britain, Canada, Portugal, and Australia also announced their recognition of the State of Palestine.
This process is of great importance in the international political arena and strengthens the authority of Palestine. However, the fact that Israel is not backing down from its position may complicate the upcoming negotiations.
