Another astonishing cosmic phenomenon was observed on the Sun, zamin.uz reported. On the night of November 20, a massive plasma structure — 80 times larger than the diameter of Earth — formed in the Sun’s northern region and was ejected into space.
Scientists are calling this rise a “royal prominence,” as the length of the plasma structure exceeded one million kilometers. Such a measurement indicates a giant level of activity that is rarely seen on the Sun.
Interestingly, three days earlier, a similarly powerful plasma cloud had erupted from the same region. Experts say these two events may be linked to the same activity center — region number 4274.
This region was recently positioned in a way visible from Earth and produced two of the strongest flares of the year — X5.1 and X4.0 class explosions. It is currently located on the far side of the Sun, where it cannot be observed directly.
Scientists are studying the event in detail. However, at this stage, it is reported that this massive plasma eruption poses no danger to Earth — the phenomenon occurred on the side of the Sun facing away from our planet.
