US President Donald Trump sharply criticized the Ukrainian leadership for not expressing any gratitude to the United States for its efforts to achieve peace in the conflict. Trump expressed his opinion on his social network Truth.
Trump's sharp statement
The politician noted that the Ukrainian leadership expressed zero gratitude for the efforts. At the same time, Trump also criticized the position of European countries: "Europe is still not stopping purchasing oil from Russia. And the US continues to supply a significant amount of weapons to NATO for distribution to Ukraine."
Claim history: White House scandal
This is not the first time the American leadership has accused Ukraine of ingratitude. At the end of February, during the US-Ukraine talks at the White House, a sharp dispute arose between Zelenskyy and Trump.
The main cause of the quarrel was security guarantees. After Zelenskyy claimed that natural resource agreements were insufficient to ensure Ukraine's security and demanded additional guarantees, the dialogue escalated into a heated scandal.
Disrespect and ingratitude
At the end of the talks, Trump accused Zelenskyy of disrespect, while US Vice President Jay Dee Vance accused him of not appreciating the good he had done.
In response, the Ukrainian president recalled that he had repeatedly thanked the US for the assistance provided, emphasizing that Vens had never visited his country. Following this disagreement, the Ukrainian delegation was forced to leave the White House ahead of schedule.
