The situation of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons is worsening. Despite the court's order to provide them with sufficient food, a number of prisoners are still suffering severely. According to reports, some have lost more than half of their body weight.
Currently, more than 10,000 Palestinians in prisons - including women and young children - are suffering from severe hunger, shortage, and neglect of medical care. Despite more than three months following a clear instruction from the Supreme Court, the situation has remained virtually unchanged.
Although the Israeli prison service acknowledges that it is its duty to comply with the court's decision, the special commission established to monitor the situation has not yet shown significant results.
