US officials will meet with the Russian delegation in Florida on Saturday to continue talks aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. The meeting was organized by President Donald Trump’s administration to encourage both sides to reach an agreement.
On Friday, US officials also held talks with Ukrainian and European delegations. Some agreements on security guarantees for Kyiv were reported, but it is still unclear if Moscow will accept them.
The Russian delegation is led by President Vladimir Putin’s envoy Kirill Dmitriev. From the US, Steve Witkoff and President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner will participate. Marco Rubio may also join.
Russian President Vladimir Putin did not offer any agreements. He said the conditions for ending the war have not changed, Ukraine must abandon its NATO ambitions and withdraw from four regions Russia claims as its own. Kyiv says it will not give up areas that have not been captured during the war.
