Uzbekistan is introducing a modern mechanism for remote document processing: the government has approved the operating procedure of the Vakolat.uz platform. From now on, individuals and legal entities will be able to issue, amend, and revoke electronic powers of attorney online, with all data consolidated in a single open register. Podrobno.uz reports this. According to a Cabinet of Ministers resolution, the new platform will serve as an official tool for managing authorizations in the digital environment. The process is максимально simplified: the user only needs to authenticate via the unified OneID system and fill out an electronic form, after which the document takes effect for the period specified by the applicant. However, this period must not exceed three years. The new regulation places special emphasis on flexible document management. Principals will be able to promptly update existing powers of attorney when personal data changes (such as a surname or ID card number), when a legal entity’s name changes, or when the document’s validity needs to be extended. This will spare citizens from having to cancel old documents and re-register each time. System security is ensured through integration with state information databases. The Vakolat.uz platform can also automatically terminate powers of attorney in cases such as the principal’s death, an organization’s liquidation, or the expiration of the specified term. Each issued document is assigned a unique number, allowing any participant in civil transactions to verify its authenticity in the open register. Importantly, powers of attorney issued in the traditional way via the “Notary” system will be automatically synchronized with the platform, creating a unified and reliable digital space for all types of powers of attorney in the country.
