Trump: "Great, unnatural hatred" exists between Zelenskyy and Putin

US President Donald Trump, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, said that there is "a huge, unnatural hatred" between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin. In his opinion, it is precisely this tension that seriously hinders the advancement of peace negotiations.
When Trump was asked about the possibility of a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia in the near future, he said that at first he thought it would be easier to stop this war. He also recalled that it served to resolve several other conflicts.
"There's too much hatred here" signal
The American leader called the relationship between Zelenskyy and Putin "great hatred," emphasizing that this situation is not a good basis for reaching an agreement. With the words "we know that we are facing such hatred," he pointed out that the negotiations were difficult not only politically, but also psychologically.
"There is great hatred between President Zelenskyy and President Putin, and this is a bad situation for resolving the conflict. We know that we are facing this unnatural hatred," Trump said.
At the same time, Trump emphasized that the war could end anyway, potentially saving many lives. He expressed confidence that Russia is also inclined towards an agreement, and Ukraine may also want one.
"And we will try to implement this agreement... I think we are close enough, I can say," Trump said.
"Very complex equilibrium" and double claims
According to Trump, various claims arise during Washington's dialogue with Moscow: sometimes there are statements like "Zelensky won't do this," and later conversely - "Zelensky is ready for an agreement, but Putin doesn't want it." Trump described this situation as a "very complex balance."
Drones, casualties, and quick stop calls
The US President described the war as a bloody clash with the widespread use of drones, where many people die every week, and stated the need to stop such a situation.
At this point, Trump also mentioned his intention to meet with Zelenskyy. In his opinion, the parties are currently at a stage where they can gather in one place and reach an agreement.
"I want to meet with President Zelenskyy later. I think they are at a stage where they can come together and reach an agreement. If they don't, they are fools. This applies to both. I know they're not stupid. But if they don't do it - they are fools," Trump said.
Conclusion
These statements from Davos indicate that Washington intends to present both the situation on the front line and the mood behind the negotiations as a serious but solvable problem. Now the main question is whether the belief that "we are close" will remain in words or become a real result in the next steps.
