Prime Minister of Canada: The era of living in lies is ending in the world

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, the new Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, delivered a sharp and meaningful speech that shook the world community. An experienced economist, who came to power in the spring of last year, unveiled the "old lies" in international relations. In his opinion, today the world lives not just in a transitional period, but in a systemic disruption.

The power of the weak and "false writings" in the display window

In his speech, Carney touched upon the work of the famous philosopher Vaclav Havel "The Power of the Weak," comparing modern geopolitics to the story of a vegetable seller.

  • A whirlpool of rituals: In the past, people hung slogans they didn't believe in in their windows to live peacefully and avoid problems.
  • Time for Truth: "Today is the time for countries and companies to remove those false entries from their showcases," said Carney.
  • Double standards: For decades, talk of "rule-based order" has actually been a false system where the strongest ones freed themselves from rules.

The era of "disruptions," when integration has become a weapon

The Canadian leader noted that the financial and energy crises of the last two decades have exposed the risks of global interconnectedness. He says that the major powers have now turned integration into a tool for subjugating others:

  • Economic pressure: Tariffs and supply chains are no longer cooperative but compulsory.
  • Building fortresses: As long as international institutions (the UN, the WTO) are at risk, it will be cheaper for each country to invest in collective stability than to build a separate "fortress."

Canada's new strategic position

Mark Carney stated that Canada has abandoned its old assumptions and is now relying on "the value of its power, not just the power of values."

  • Military and economic power: The country is increasing its defense spending and has joined the European Defence Procurement System (SAFE).
  • The Arctic and Greenland: Canada strongly opposed the duties imposed on Greenland, expressing solidarity with Denmark on the issue of Arctic sovereignty.
  • Energy Superpower: Canada has begun to work with a new reality, using its enormous mineral reserves and financial potential.

"To avoid being on the menu, you need to be around the table"

Carney called on the middle powers (Canada, Uzbekistan, and others) to unite. He believes that if the middle powers do not act together, they will always remain a weakness in bilateral negotiations with major hegemons.

"Nostalgia is not a strategy. "We need to establish real cooperation, without waiting for the return of the old order," the Canadian Prime Minister concluded. His speech was perceived in Davos as one of the most daring statements about the "new world order."

In your opinion, can the world's "middle powers" unite against the economic pressure of major hegemons?
