In Jezkazgan, a woman was found guilty of killing her husband and sentenced to 9 years in prison, reports NUR.KZ.
According to the official Telegram channel of the Ulytau region courts, the case against the woman was considered in the specialized inter-district criminal court of the region under the charge of murder (Criminal Code, Article 99, Part 1).
The court established that in August 2025, the woman, being heavily intoxicated, quarreled with her husband and struck him once in the chest with a kitchen knife. As a result of the injuries, the victim died at the scene.
The defendant's guilt was proven by the testimony of the victim, witnesses, expert conclusions, and other case materials.
The prosecutor requested a 12-year prison sentence for the defendant. The defendant fully admitted her guilt, expressed remorse for her actions, and asked for forgiveness from the victim, requesting a reduced sentence.
The committed crime falls under the category of particularly serious offenses according to Article 99, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, which provides for a punishment of 8 to 15 years in prison.
Admission of guilt and sincere remorse are considered mitigating circumstances. Considering all circumstances of the case, the court sentenced the woman to 9 years of imprisonment.
