Is it true that Adam Kadyrov suffered serious injuries after the accident?

New reports have emerged that 18-year-old Adam Kadyrov, the son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, was seriously injured after a road accident in Grozny in January. On Thursday, February 12, Novaya Gazeta Evropa, citing a source, wrote that Adam Kadyrov may have had his spleen removed.

According to the publication, he was put on a strict diet for six months at the Botkin Hospital in Moscow. According to the version, he also had a fracture in his jawbone, which practically limits his ability to eat solid food for a certain period of time. According to the newspaper, Adam Kadyrov lost a lot of weight in three weeks.

Sources say that doctors have also noted the possibility of damage to the visual function. According to the publication's interlocutor, it is still not entirely clear what the consequences of this injury will be in the future, and the risk remains - even the possibility of a decrease or loss of vision in one eye has been mentioned.

However, it is important to note that the Chechen authorities have not yet officially confirmed this information.

There is another noteworthy incident. Kadyrov's Telegram channel posted a video on February 10: it shows Adam Kadyrov entering the room at "dinner" time. The footage shows that he has lost several kilograms, and in the video he has not eaten anything.

Earlier, the Telegram channel of the Chechen opposition movement NIYSO reported on January 16 that Adam Kadyrov's motorcade was moving "at normal high speed" when it unexpectedly encountered an obstacle, as a result of which the cars crashed into each other. According to their claims, three of Adam Kadyrov's bodyguards were among those seriously injured in the accident.

For your information, Adam Kadyrov is the secretary of the Security Council of Chechnya. In April 2025, he was appointed curator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Chechnya. It is also reported that he will also be curator of the Russian University for Special Training named after Putin and the Sheikh Mansur and Baysangur Benoevsky battalions of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Previous articles by Novaya Gazeta also mention information about Ramzan Kadyrov's health from different years: in January 2019, he was diagnosed with pancreatic necrosis, and his condition began to worsen in the spring of 2022. Novaya Gazeta Evropa also noted that the Russian presidential administration may have been developing a scenario for a change of power in Chechnya since September 2023.

In short, the information that is circulating so far is mostly based on anecdotal sources. Until an official explanation is released, it is too early to draw firm conclusions on this subject. However, the talk of weight loss and dieting in the video suggests one thing: the situation is not easy — and the public may learn more about it.
