Trump apparently wants to control the UN through the "Peace Council"

The US administration expressed its intention to work more closely with the UN and more fully utilize the organization's capabilities under the supervision of the "Peace Council." This was stated by President Donald Trump at the first meeting of the organization in Washington.

According to Trump, the US wants to "work very closely" with the UN, and the "Peace Council" is seen as a mechanism that almost constantly monitors the UN's activities and controls its "correct operation."

At the same time, the US leader spoke about plans to financially support the UN and update and modernize the organization's infrastructure. In his opinion, with appropriate support and strict control, the UN should become a more influential, "stronger instrument" in international politics.

According to reports, the first meeting of the "Peace Council" opened in Washington on February 19, attended by delegations from more than 20 countries.

Initially, it is said that this structure was formed to monitor the situation in the Gaza Strip, ensure stability, and coordinate recovery processes. Later, Trump put forward the idea of expanding his powers, that is, turning him into a more active "player" in resolving conflicts in other regions as well.

In short, Washington wants to build a "peace architecture" in a new format: on the one hand - cooperation and financial support with the UN, on the other - a mechanism similar to strict control and external administration. Now the biggest question is: will this initiative increase the effectiveness of the UN or exacerbate the disputes surrounding the organization?
