A plane crash carrying money in Bolivia has claimed dozens of lives

In Bolivia, a cargo plane belonging to the country's air force, carrying new banknotes for the Central Bank, crashed, causing a serious tragedy. According to international sources, at least 15 people have died, and the number of victims is being further clarified. During a landing near El Alto International Airport, the plane derailed from the runway, crashed onto the highway, and damaged several vehicles.

The incident occurred in the El Alto area near La Paz. We are talking about the Lockheed C-130 Hercules military cargo aircraft. He was carrying newly printed banknotes intended for the needs of the Central Bank of Bolivia. After landing, the plane went out of control and rolled onto a nearby road, colliding with cars, which further aggravated the scene of the crash.

One of the most sensational aspects was the scattering of banknotes that had fallen from the plane. Therefore, hundreds of people gathered at the scene and tried to collect the money. This significantly complicated the rescue operations. Police and military personnel reportedly mobilized large forces to control the area, and in some cases, tear gas and water were used to disperse the crowd.

Representatives of the Central Bank of Bolivia stated that the banknotes scattered from the plane are legally invalid, as they have not yet been officially put into circulation. Therefore, a call was sent to the local population to return them. Officials also reminded that keeping or hiding these bills could be considered a crime. Some reports even state that the money was destroyed at the scene.

The exact cause of the accident has not yet been disclosed. The investigation is ongoing, and all flights at the airport have been temporarily suspended. In short, this event became not only a transport disaster for Bolivia, but also a difficult event that simultaneously brought security, financial logistics, and public order issues to the forefront.
