Iran appointed interim top leader

Alireza Arafi has been appointed acting head of Iran. According to Reuters, he was appointed as a member of the board of directors.
The 67-year-old Arafi has been tasked with temporarily exercising the powers of the supreme leader. He was a member of the council alongside President Mas'ud Pezeshkiyan and Supreme Court Chairman Golamhossein Mohseni Ejei.
According to sources, Arafi is a clergyman with extensive experience in state institutions. He is also mentioned as one of Ali Khamenei's trusted representatives.
Prior to this appointment, Alireza Arafi served as Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of Experts. It is also noted that he served as a member of the prestigious Guardian Council.
In addition, he headed the system of religious educational institutions in Iran. As stated in the reports, during the transition period, the country is expected to be governed by a temporary governing council.
It is noted that the death of the previous leader, Ali Khamenei, was officially confirmed today. In this regard, it was announced that a temporary governance mechanism has been launched in Iran.
