Qatar warned of global consequences of war with Iran

Qatar's Energy Minister Saad al-Kaabi stated that US and Israeli military actions against Iran pose a serious threat to global energy security. According to him, if the situation does not stabilize, oil-producing countries in the Persian Gulf will be forced to stop their operations in the coming weeks. This could lead to oil prices jumping to 150 dollars per barrel on the world market.

Currently, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has become extremely dangerous. The near-total halt in vessel traffic and the sharp rise in insurance payments have disrupted the logistics chain. The price of Brent crude has already risen to 87.66 dollars, marking the highest level since July 2024. Experts are concerned that if this crisis continues, global GDP growth will slow down and goods shortages will occur.

Recall that following the military clashes that began on February 28, Tehran launched its retaliatory strikes. As a result, on March 2, Qatar was forced to stop its liquefied natural gas production. The decision of this country, which has a large share in the world market, is negatively affecting global energy supplies.
