The US is sending 5,000 marines to the Middle East

The USA began to strengthen its military readiness in the Middle East. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
The Wall Street Journal, citing US officials, reports that the Pentagon is directing a naval expeditionary unit and additional warships to the Middle East due to increasing attacks by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to reports, Pentagon chief Pete Heggett approved the US Central Command's request to send part of a group of landing ships and an expeditionary marine battalion attached to it to the region.
Usually, such a military unit consists of several warships and approximately 5,000 marines. Their main task is to ensure security in the region and promptly respond to potential threats.
According to experts, this step indicates that the situation in the Middle East is becoming increasingly tense. In particular, any potential collision around the Strait of Hormuz could seriously affect global oil supply routes.
