A pregnant woman and children died in Gaza

At least 13 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza on Sunday, including two children, a pregnant woman and nine police officers, according to hospital officials and Gaza’s Interior Ministry. The latest strikes came despite a ceasefire deal that had reduced the heaviest fighting but failed to stop near-daily violence in the territory. Reports Aljazeera.com.

One strike hit a home in Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing four people, including a couple in their 30s and their 10-year-old son, Al-Aqsa Hospital said. The woman was pregnant with twins. A 15-year-old neighbor was also killed. Residents said the area was hit without warning while families were asleep.

In a separate attack, a police vehicle was bombed near az-Zawayda along the Philadelphi Corridor, killing nine officers, including senior official Colonel Iyad Ab Yousef. Gaza’s Interior Ministry said the officers had been monitoring markets and maintaining public order during Ramadan. Hospital officials said 14 other people were wounded.

There was no immediate response from the Israeli military. Meanwhile, Israel said Gaza’s Rafah crossing with Egypt would partially reopen on March 18 for limited passenger travel, but no cargo would be allowed. More than 20,000 sick and injured Palestinians are still waiting to leave for treatment, including thousands of children and cancer patients, while shortages of medicine and supplies continue to worsen.
