Against the backdrop of the conflict in the Middle East, a gas shortage has emerged in India, forcing the majority of the population to use firewood and coal again, The Times of India reports.
According to Shanu Modak, a resident of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, "We had to clean the dust from our furnaces where we used firewood and use them because it was impossible to find liquefied petroleum gas cylinders."
Another housewife says that people are returning to chopping wood and lighting fires, just like in the grandmothers' time. This creates additional difficulties in everyday life.
