Pakistan is ready to mediate peace talks in the Middle East

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced his readiness to create a special platform for "meaningful and constructive negotiations" to stabilize the complex situation in the Middle East and promote regional peace.

"Pakistan welcomes and fully supports any efforts aimed at ending conflicts in the Middle East to ensure peace and stability in the region and beyond," Prime Minister X said in a statement on social media.

Earlier, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the media to refrain from speculation and wait for official statements, after which there were reports of possible negotiations between US and Iranian officials.

On March 23, Donald Trump announced diplomatic talks with Iran and halted attacks on the country's energy facilities with a five-day moratorium.

Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff and businessman Jared Kushner held talks with key figures in Iran, but the Tehran side rejected any contact with the US. At the same time, Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan have acted as mediators in recent days, actively pursuing diplomatic steps.

According to Axios and The Express Tribune, Islamabad is considered a favorable venue for negotiations with the participation of a US delegation, which could create additional opportunities for peace in the region.
