Trump's rating fell to a record low

US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to 36%, the lowest level since his return to the White House, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll. His support had stood at 47% in the opening months of his presidency and was still around 40% before the latest escalation in the Middle East.

The survey shows growing public unease over both foreign policy and the economy. Only 25% of respondents said they approved of Trump’s handling of prices, while 29% backed his economic policy more broadly. At the same time, 63% of Americans described the US economy as weak.

Public resistance to military action against Iran also appears strong. According to the poll, 61% of Americans oppose US strikes on Iran. The conflict has added to pressure on the White House, especially as higher oil prices have raised concerns about gasoline costs and overall living expenses.

The figures are politically significant because Trump had promised during his election campaign to avoid starting new wars. Now, rising tensions with Iran and worsening cost-of-living concerns are weighing on his standing with voters.
