A tragic road accident occurred in the centre of Leipzig, Germany, on Grimmaische Strasse. According to reports, a car drove into pedestrians.
Preliminary reports indicate that two people were killed and several citizens sustained injuries of varying severity. This was reported by BR Radio citing Mayor Burkhard Jung. According to witnesses, a Volkswagen SUV drove into a pedestrian zone at high speed. Several covered bodies and injured persons were recorded at the scene. Saxony police officially announced that the driver had been detained.
