US Approves Billions in Arms Sales to the Middle East

The US government has officially approved a major sale of military equipment and weaponry intended for Middle Eastern nations. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio approved this agreement, which is being processed under emergency procedures, according to Bloomberg.

According to reports, the military package, valued at a total of $25.8 billion, is nearly three times the originally planned volume of $8.6 billion. This indicates a significant expansion in the scope of the deal.

The major military supplies will be directed to Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE.

In recent years, these countries have been actively expanding military cooperation with the US to strengthen regional security.

It is noted that the arms packages include modern defense assets. This primarily concerns hundreds of Patriot PAC-3 MSE and GEM-T interceptor missiles used for protection against ballistic missiles and drones.

Experts note that US military production capacities are currently under high strain. Therefore, full delivery of the orders is likely to take several years. Global geopolitical tensions and orders from other nations are also impacting this process.

According to analysts, this major military deal could significantly impact the balance of power in the Middle East. While it enhances the defense capabilities of these nations, it may also further fuel the regional arms race.
