The joint US military operation against Iran is proving very costly for Washington. According to reports, the total military expenditure for this operation has reached $29 billion to date.
This was announced by Jules Horst III, a senior Pentagon official responsible for financial matters. He noted that this amount includes not only combat operations but also the modernization, repair, replacement of military equipment, and general operational costs.
The official statement notes that the volume of expenses has increased by another $4 billion since the last report, indicating that the financial burden of the operation is growing year by year.
Previously, at the end of April, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that the total cost of the operation was around $25 billion. The sharp increase in this figure in a short time is sparking debate.
Experts believe that such large expenditures could have a significant impact on US foreign military policy and the national budget.
