General Motors has announced that it will end production of the Chevrolet Blazer with an internal combustion engine (ICE) for the North American market, according to GM Authority.
The vehicle is expected to be phased out after the 2025 model year. Previously, GM made a similar decision regarding the Cadillac XT5 and Cadillac XT6 models.
As a result, the company's North American lineup will no longer include midsize crossovers with ICE engines.
The gasoline-powered alternative to the Chevrolet Blazer could be the Chevy Equinox, although it has a less powerful engine. Additionally, the electric Chevy Blazer EV is available for customers.
Currently, the Chevrolet Blazer with an internal combustion engine is being produced at GM’s Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. According to reports, the facility will switch to manufacturing only electric vehicles in the future.
Since production began, Chevrolet Blazer sales have declined by 45% over five years, from 95,000 to 52,500 units. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
