Noise around Leapmotor electric cars: certification suspended in Uzbekistan
Chinese electric car manufacturer Leapmotor has faced technical restrictions in Uzbekistan. The certification process for passenger cars of this brand in the country has been temporarily suspended.

Serious defect found in the S16 model

According to regulatory authorities, the Leapmotor S16 vehicle failed the electromagnetic compatibility test. It was found that the level of electromagnetic interference generated by the vehicle was 16 times higher than the allowed limit.

This was reported in an official statement from the Technical Regulation Inspection. Such defects can affect the performance of other electronic systems in the vehicle and are considered very serious from a safety perspective.

Official response from Leapmotor

Leapmotor issued an official statement on the matter. Company representatives said:

“The vehicle tested in Uzbekistan was not sent by us. There is also no clear information about the testing conditions and the condition of the selected vehicle. We have objections to the results. Therefore, we request a transparent and repeat inspection,” the statement says.

What happens next?

Leapmotor has expressed readiness to resolve the situation through official channels and cooperate in meeting technical requirements. For now, the registration and certification process for new vehicles under this brand in Uzbekistan has been suspended.

Reminder:
Leapmotor is one of the most popular Chinese electric vehicle brands in recent years and is represented in many countries around the world. Interest in this brand has also been growing in Uzbekistan.
