From January 1, 2026, mandatory car insurance tariffs and compensation amounts will be increased in Uzbekistan. One of the most important changes is that the minimum amount of compensation that an insurance company must pay to compensate for damage caused to a driver or passenger in the event of an accident will increase from 40 million soums to 80 million soums.
According to the new tariffs, the cost of compulsory car insurance is set as follows:
For passenger cars:
In the regions: 160,000 soums
Tashkent city and region: 192,000 soums
Foreign number (temporarily added): 320,000 soums
For trucks:
In the regions: 280,000 soums
Tashkent city/region: 336,000 soums
Foreign number: 560,000 soums
Increased tariffs for drivers who caused accidents:
1 event: 208,000 - 249,600 soums
2 events: 320,000 - 384,000 soums

These changes are expected to serve to increase the responsibility of drivers, more fully compensate for the consequences of road accidents from a financial point of view, and improve the insurance system.
