China’s BYD is close to becoming the world’s leading electric vehicle seller. The company said that sales of fully electric cars increased by nearly 28% last year, exceeding 2.25 million units. This result puts BYD ahead of Tesla.
Tesla has not yet announced its final annual sales figures. According to analysts, the company sold around 1.65 million vehicles during the year. Recently, Tesla has faced difficulties due to declining demand for new models and increased competition.
Chinese companies are offering electric vehicles at lower prices and are actively entering the market. This has increased pressure on Western manufacturers, including Tesla. In response, Tesla has reduced prices on some models.
