This August, the ancient city of Khiva in the Khorezm region will once again be filled with joy, celebration, and national traditions. From August 8 to 10, the traditional and large-scale “Melon Festival” will take place on the grounds of Ichan Qala and Arda Khiva complexes. The festival aims to showcase our country’s tourism potential, attract both local and international tourists to Khorezm, and widely promote folk traditions and cultural heritage.
As part of the festival, various types of fragrant and sweet melons grown in all cities and districts of Khorezm will be exhibited. Each region will present its pavilion decorated with handicrafts, national dishes, and cultural ornaments. This will highlight not only the melons but also the cultural diversity of Khorezm.
In addition, visitors will enjoy puppet theater, theatrical performances and traditional costume displays, live performances by artistic groups and folklore ensembles, masterclasses, and exhibitions of fine and applied arts. Unique handmade items crafted by local artisans will also be showcased to guests.
Active participants will be awarded valuable prizes from the Khorezm regional administration and sponsors in various nominations. This will serve as strong motivation for local craftsmen and entrepreneurs.
One of the most anticipated parts of the festival will be the gala concerts featuring national and international pop stars. These will take place on August 8–9 at “Ichan Qala” and on August 10 at the “Arda Khiva” tourist complex.
The Melon Festival is not just a celebration of sweet melons, but an event that unites national spirit, cultural heritage, and modern tourism. For those planning to visit Khorezm, these dates promise a truly festive experience. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
