For the first time in three years, Russians' interest in TV series has significantly declined, according to Peopletalk. In 2025, series received only 292,400 interest points — the lowest figure in three years.
At the same time, demand for Asian series — particularly those aired on Netflix — is growing.
Topping the list of the most popular shows is the sequel to the South Korean drama "Squid Game" (10.7K points). In second and third places are Japanese animations: "Solo Leveling" (6.6K points) and "The Apothecary Diaries" (4.3K points).
The Russian series "Lilies. Such Tender Love" came in fourth with 4K points. In fifth place is "Outsource", starring Ivan Yankovsky (2.7K points).
Experts say this trend is due to a lack of proper promotion for new local projects. Only sequels of familiar franchises like "Univer" and "Sklifosovsky" managed to draw viewers' attention.
Interestingly, a remake of the popular series "My Fair Nanny" is also in the works. The lead roles will be played by "Natal Chart" show star Olesya Ivanchenko and actor Viktor Khorinyak, known for his roles in "Kitchen" and "The Last Warrior". Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
