Shah Rukh Khan reflects on National Award going to Saif

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has spoken out after learning that Saif Ali Khan received the National Film Award for his role in “Hum Tum,” NDTV.com reported.

Shah Rukh said he considered his role in “Swades” one of the most meaningful and powerful performances of his career and expected it to be recognized.

“I still can’t fully understand the decision, but I congratulate Saif,” the actor stated. He noted that every award is judged by its own standards.

Shah Rukh Khan earned critical acclaim for portraying an NRI scientist in the 2004 drama “Swades.”

However, the 2004 National Award was awarded to Saif Ali Khan for his performance in the romantic comedy “Hum Tum.”

The outcome has sparked debate among fans and film critics alike.
