According to Christie’s auction house, on September 26 in Hong Kong, a sale dedicated to the art of the 20th–21st centuries will take place. At this event, one of Pablo Picasso’s famous works — the portrait of Dora Maar — will be presented, writes Pravilamag.
This canvas was painted in 1944, during the period when Paris was occupied by the Germans, and experts estimate its value at 11–14 million dollars.
The portrait was created at the end of the nine-year relationship between the artist and the surrealist creator, photographer Dora Maar. During this time, he also produced many world-famous works, including “The Weeping Woman”.
