The famous and versatile actor of Turkish cinematography Burak Özçivit once again responded to questions about his family life, which in recent times have been widely discussed in the media and on social networks. According to him, most of the information being spread is baseless and contrary to reality.
At the end of August, actress Fahriye Evcen, through her personal page, appealed to the public, asking not to interfere in their family life and not to spread false news. However, even after that, some Turkish publications reported that the couple was on the verge of divorce and had even begun selling their common property.
After these baseless reports, the couple went to London for a short vacation. Turkish media interpreted this trip as a sign of the strength of their relationship. Soon after, the spouses jointly attended the Contemporary Istanbul exhibition held in Istanbul. During the event, the actor was also asked questions about divorce.
Burak Özçivit called such reports “lies and slander.” In his opinion, discussing matters of private life at an event dedicated to art is completely inappropriate. At the same time, the actor expressed dissatisfaction with the excessive interference of the press and bloggers in his personal life. He especially emphasized that such baseless information negatively affects family relations.
Nevertheless, the Özçivit and Evcen family is still considered one of the most exemplary couples in Turkish cinema. According to experts, the rumors being spread may be more related to attempts by some media outlets to attract readers’ attention.
In exactly such a situation, Burak Özçivit’s open statement can be considered as bringing clarity to all questions regarding their family life.
