Singer Mirjalol Nematov was fined for violating copyright

The singer Mirjalol Nematov was held administratively liable for violating copyright. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, according to the publication Uz24.
It became known that the poems "Qo'shni qiz" and "Men turganda" by poet Farxod Muminov were performed by Mirjalol Nematov without the author's permission.
After the Society for the Protection of Copyright and Related Rights appealed on this matter, a legal investigation was conducted and a case was initiated under Article 177¹ of the Administrative Code.
According to the decision of the Uchtepa district court, the singer was fined based on the first part of this article.
Experts emphasize that this case is seen as a strict measure to protect the rights of creators and prevent illegal performances.
