
China’s tech giant Alibaba Group has announced a $53 billion investment in artificial intelligence and cloud computing over the next three years. This surpasses its total AI and cloud spending over the past decade.
CEO Eddie Wu called AI a "once-in-a-generation opportunity", emphasizing Alibaba’s long-term goal of developing AGI (Artificial General Intelligence).
Cloud computing remains Alibaba’s primary AI revenue driver, with increasing demand for AI hosting services. The Cloud Intelligence Group’s revenue grew by 11% year-over-year, while AI-related products have seen triple-digit growth for six consecutive quarters.
Alibaba plans to integrate AI across its entire ecosystem, including e-commerce, enterprise solutions, and consumer applications.
