During the past week, 19 billion dollars were withdrawn by clients from funds invested in US stocks, according to “Kommersant” as reported by "Kursiv media".
This weekly withdrawal figure increased fourfold. It is noted that investors decided to secure profits amid weak unemployment indicators in the US.
This was one of the largest withdrawals this year — previous withdrawals amounted to 27.7 billion dollars and 20.2 billion dollars.
According to the “Kommersant” publication, investors are losing interest in risky assets, namely securities.
“The quality of the US labor market data announced for August is questionable. They were weak again, raising concerns about the state of the US economy,” said Dmitry Terpelov, asset manager at “Doveritelnaya” company.
In 2024, investments in US funds amounted to 153 billion dollars, which is 1.5 times less compared to 2023.
