Electronic cigarettes sharply increase the risk of heart attack

It has once again been proven that electronic cigarettes (veip) are much more dangerous for human health than expected. According to News Medical, recent scientific research has shown that e-cigarette consumption significantly increases the likelihood of myocardial infarction - a heart attack.

This comprehensive study, published in the journal BMC Public Health, examined in detail the relationship between using vapes and the risk of heart attack and stroke. Scientists analyzed 12 scientific works conducted in previous years, including 430,875 participants for risk of heart attack, and more than 1 million people for stroke analysis.

The risk of heart attack is 53 percent higher.

According to the results of the study, those who do not give up the habit of smoking electronic cigarettes increase the likelihood of heart attack by 53 percent. The most alarming thing is that those who switched from regular cigarettes to e-cigarettes showed an even higher risk.

Experts say that former smokers who first smoked and then switched to vaping had a 73% higher risk of stroke compared to those who never used tobacco products. This means that it is absolutely wrong to perceive electronic cigarettes as "safe" or "less harmful."

Why is the web a serious threat?

Countries and medical systems have long identified regular cigarette smoking as a major risk factor due to its severe damage to the cardiovascular system. The tobacco industry, in turn, offered electronic nicotine delivery devices to the market as a "lighter option for smokers."

However, liquids in these devices - nicotine, propylene glycol, plant glycerin, and various flavorings - form hazardous substances when heated. It is noted that the heating of propylene glycol releases reactive compounds, in particular aldehydes, which can lead to cardiovascular diseases.
