Reports have circulated on social media regarding the initiation of a criminal case against a Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement (MIB) officer in Khorezm.
It was revealed that on May 7 of this year, S.D., a state enforcement officer at the Khiva district branch of the Bureau, was caught red-handed while accepting $1,500 from citizen X.P. in exchange for resolving tax debts through acquaintances in tax authorities.
In connection with this incident, the Khorezm Regional Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case against S.D. on May 8, 2026, under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
Since the establishment of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement, combating the scourge of corruption has remained one of its primary tasks and requirements.
Personnel from the Personal Security network operating within the Bureau are taking measures to increase the effectiveness of preventive actions among staff and to prevent various abuses and misconduct.
In the current year alone, the Khorezm Regional Department of the Bureau has conducted 69 preventive events and 29 individual preventive interviews.
Twenty-two employees who failed to comply with performance and service discipline have been held disciplinarily accountable.
