Statement issued on another death in prison

On February 11, 2025, convict Mustafa Tursinbayev, who was serving his sentence in penal colony No. 7, was demolishing the walls of a one-story building when part of the wall collapsed and crushed him. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

Convict M. Tursinbayev was immediately hospitalized.

However, despite the medical treatment provided by doctors, convict M. Tursinbayev died in the hospital on February 16.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 257 of the Criminal Code (Violation of labor protection rules).
