A criminal case has been opened in Tashkent against three people who fraudulently demanded $70,000 from a foreign citizen.
It turned out that the legal consultant of the Legal Department of the capital's khokimiyat demanded 10 percent of this amount, or $70,000, through his acquaintance, born in 1979, in exchange for the accelerated delivery of 8.8 billion soums, which was determined to be allocated by the state by a court decision as compensation for the destruction of real estate belonging to a foreign citizen for state needs.
Otherwise, he said that he could file a cassation appeal against the court decision on behalf of the Tashkent city khokimiyat and reduce the amount of compensation determined by revaluing the real estate.
During an operational operation conducted in cooperation with the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, the intermediary was detained with material evidence while receiving $70,000 from a foreign citizen.
During the interrogation, he stated that he had previously given $50,000 to the legal consultant at his own expense, and that he planned to give another $15,000 to the legal consultant, and keep the remaining $5,000 for his own intermediary services.
Then, the operational operation continued, and the legal consultant was detained while receiving $15,000.
It was also found that the legal consultant had previously given $10,000 of the $50,000 he had received from his intermediary to the chief specialist of the Tashkent city Main Department of Economy and Finance in order to speed up the process of transferring the compensation.
Based on the legal advisor's report, the chief specialist was also detained in a procedural manner. The legal advisor voluntarily provided $40,000, and the chief specialist voluntarily provided $10,000.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 168, Part 4, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code (fraud in a very large amount) and Article 211, Part 2, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code (bribery in a very large amount) and an investigation is underway.
