
On April 25, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held fruitful talks with Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
At the meeting, views were exchanged in an open, trusting and constructive spirit on the further development and deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
The head of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry made the following statement on the meeting on his social media page:
“Today, in Almaty, we held a mutually beneficial and fruitful dialogue with Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China. During the meeting, we exchanged views on the opportunities for further expanding Uzbek-Chinese relations and bringing them to a new level. We discussed important areas such as trade and economic cooperation, increasing transport and logistics capabilities, ensuring regional security, and cooperation in the international arena.
At the same time, Bakhtiyor Saidov expressed gratitude for China's constant support for the consistent development of Uzbekistan and emphasized the importance of joint efforts to form a stable, secure, and interconnected region.
"We express our sincere gratitude to the Chinese side for its comprehensive support for the development of Uzbekistan and our joint efforts to ensure stability and prosperity in our region. We agreed to maintain and further strengthen the high momentum of our bilateral relations," Saidov noted.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their unanimity in further enriching the relations between Uzbekistan and China with new directions and new projects, and opening new pages of cooperation in the future. This will serve to further strengthen the relations between the two countries in the spirit of friendship and trust.
