President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the construction of the Al-Khwarizmi town.

The head of our state laid the foundation stone for this town in August 2022. In recent years, engineering networks have been laid, and 72 multi-storey buildings with 1,773 apartments have been commissioned. This year, it is planned to build another 28 residential buildings with a thousand apartments. There will be more than 5,000 apartments in total.

The town is being built near the Urgench International Airport, on an area of ​​more than 130 hectares. This beautiful place will be the first thing that guests will see when they get off the plane. A magnificent statue of our Khorezm grandfather will be installed in the center of the town.

The project for this statue was presented to our President.

The statue will be installed at the entrance to the 20-hectare park being built in the town. Its height will be 22 meters, and with the foundation it will exceed 30 meters.

The authorities were instructed to improve the monument both creatively and meaningfully, and to increase the greenery in the town.

Yesterday, our President signed a decree on the establishment of Al-Khwarizmi University and a specialized school. This university will have 3 faculties: mathematics and computer science, aerospace engineering, and artificial intelligence. The educational process will be organized based on the experience of the New Uzbekistan University, in collaboration with prestigious higher education institutions in countries such as the United Arab Emirates, China, and Great Britain. Admissions are planned to begin in the 2025-2026 academic year. The total number of students is expected to be around 4-6 thousand.

A branch of the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi School in Tashkent will also be established on the territory of the town. It will be attended by 4th grade graduates. The final 2 years of education will be devoted to initial training for engineering.

The Al-Khwarizmi town will also have a technopark and offices, medical and cultural centers, parks, schools and kindergartens, sports complexes, shopping and residential buildings. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
