On May 2, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmonov held a meeting with Russian Ambassador Oleg Malginov.
During the meeting, the Uzbek side drew the attention of the Russian side to the growing number of reports of violations of the rights of labor migrants from Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation and cases of ill-treatment of them, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
“It was emphasized that such situations are considered a violation of the rights and freedoms of Uzbek citizens working in Russia, and these rights and freedoms should be ensured on the basis of the legislation of the country of residence.
