
Information on the public holidays in connection with the annual May 9 Memorial and Honor Day in Uzbekistan has been published. The Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment has issued an official statement on the holidays in connection with this holiday.
According to the ministry, in 2025, the holiday falls on Friday. In this regard, the holidays have been set as follows, depending on the type of work week:
For those working a 5-day work week:
- May 9 (Friday) - Memorial and Honor Day (holiday);
- May 10 (Saturday) - day off;
- May 11 (Sunday) - day off.
Thus, employees working a five-day work week will have the opportunity to rest for three days.
For those working a 6-day work week:
- May 9 (Friday) - Memorial and Honor Day (holiday);
- May 10 (Saturday) - working day;
- May 11 (Sunday) - day off.
In this case, employees working a six-day work week are provided with two days off - Friday and Sunday.
Remembrance and Honor Day is one of the important holidays widely celebrated in our country every year. On this date, the memory of war veterans, labor veterans and people who sacrificed their lives for the peace of the Motherland is remembered and their family members are paid tribute.
In this regard, commemorative events, cultural and educational meetings, historical exhibitions and various other ceremonies are planned to be held throughout the country.
