
The number of victims of a terrible explosion at a gas station in the Kattakurgan district of the Samarkand region has unfortunately reached 3 people. This is reported by the National TV channel.
The tragic incident occurred on May 7 at 15:06 in the afternoon at a gas station in the Kushtepa neighborhood of the Kattakurgan district. When a ZIL truck was being refueled from two 10-cubic-meter diesel fuel tanks, a sudden, powerful explosion occurred.
Unfortunately, as a result of this explosion, the head and operator of the gas station (GAS) for these cars died on the spot, and the truck driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. However, despite the medical assistance provided, the driver also died in the hospital on May 9.
According to the press secretary of the Samarkand regional internal affairs department, Hamidullo Sagdillaev, a criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 259 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Violation of fire safety regulations). Currently, investigative bodies are taking the necessary measures to identify the exact causes of the incident and the guilty parties.
In order to determine the causes of the incident, a special commission was formed and security measures were strengthened in the area. Security checks are also being carried out at other gas stations.
