5 Uzbeks detained in Egypt for violating the rules of stay in the country
It was revealed that Uzbeks who violated the rules of stay in Egypt are being detained in police stations in Cairo. This was reported by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Egypt.

Recently, it has been observed that local law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the legality of their stay in the country against many foreigners staying in Egypt, including those who came for the purpose of studying.

It was noted that additional visits and conversations were held by embassy representatives at the relevant police stations located in Nasr City, Cairo. As of May 13, it was revealed that 5 Uzbeks, among many foreigners, were detained for violating the rules of stay in the country.

At the same time, 1 Uzbek citizen was released from the temporary detention center after presenting specific documents confirming his legal presence in Egypt. It is noted that a legal assessment and decision will be made on the status of the remaining citizens in accordance with the established procedure within the framework of local legislation.

In order to ensure that the Embassy provides appropriate legal assistance, it is recommended that citizens detained during such investigation measures be notified to the Embassy without delay (contact details: +20233364516, +20233361723 and Telegram: @shtabegypt).

The Embassy of Uzbekistan also emphasized that citizens should strictly adhere to the rules of stay in Egypt, and asked them to always carry with them their identity documents, residence permit (iqama) or student cards (university, institute, etc.) during their stay and movement in the country.
